Mental Health Counseling

Calamansi Counseling provides individual and relationship therapy in Maryland, focusing on the unique experiences of multicultural women. We believe in centering culture in the therapy space and hope to empower our clients to access the wealth of resources, strength, brilliance, and wisdom that live within them, their families, ancestors, and traditions.

Hello, ahlan wa sahlan, kumustaka! I’m Heba (she/her/هي), a licensed therapist in Maryland and Washington DC. My multicultural Egyptian and Filipino roots inspired the founding of Calamansi Counseling, a liberatory healing space.

I specialize in supporting clients heal from trauma while they also navigate the unique challenges of holding multiple cultural identities. I work with adult children of immigrant parents, multicultural/BIPOC individuals and couples, queer and questioning individuals, and third culture kids. Many of the people I work with experience anxiety or depression in response to the political and global climate, the weight of cultural expectations, family wounds & trauma—alongside the everyday stress of balancing career, relationships, and a sense of self.

People I work with often come to me after painful experiences with white therapists who lacked cultural or sociopolitical consciousness. I provide culturally integrative care which promotes healing from systemic and institutional harm, drawing from somatic and trauma-informed approaches while integrating cultural and ancestral wisdom as a pathway for healing.
